Season 1, Episode 08 –
Is the real culprit who shot and killed the supermarket manager not Naoto Sakuma (Daichi Watanabe), who confessed to the crime, but Makiko Iwamoto (Mao Inoue), who was being blackmailed by the victim!? Junichi Hina (Ryoma Takeuchi) becomes increasingly convinced from Naoto’s words and actions that he is protecting Makiko. However, Naoto mutters, “There are things that only Makiko and I know,” and stubbornly refuses to retract his confession. At the same time, an unexpected event occurs. Makiko, who is thought to have secretly taken the murder weapon, a handgun, that Naoto had hidden, disappears with her son, Masaki (Kira Miura)! There must still be bullets left in the gun… The worst-case scenario crosses Junichi’s mind, and he feels a sense of unease. Meanwhile, Keisuke tells Junichi, “There’s something I’m hiding from you,” and goes to see Detective Minami Rikako (Noriko Eguchi), who is in charge of the investigation. Meanwhile, after being persuaded by Junichi, Naoto finally breaks his silence… The truth about the night the incident occurred is finally revealed. Furthermore, the heartbreaking secret from the past that only Makiko and Naoto shared is also revealed.
